Arizona resident and poet. Lou Ella Archer was born in 1891 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Although details of her life are sketchy and she considered Minnesota her home, it is known that she spent much time in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona. During her years in Arizona in the 1930's, her publications Sonnets of the Southwest and Canyon Shadows were written, and she was involved in assisting Mexicans in the Phoenix area through her work for the "Friendly House".
